Data and permissions
Privacy policy
Effective October 2, 2026. This policy describes the privately operated Homer Family Assistant and its Google Calendar connection.
What the assistant accesses
After an account holder grants consent, Homer can access the calendars available to that account, including shared calendars. This includes calendar identifiers and properties, and event information such as titles, descriptions, times, locations, and attendees. Event-editing permission includes creating, updating, and deleting events. Access is limited by the account’s existing calendar permissions.
How information is used
Calendar information is used to answer authorized scheduling requests and perform requested calendar actions. The current integration does not request Gmail or Drive permissions. Google data is not sold, used for advertising, or used by this app to train general-purpose AI models.
AI processing and sharing
Relevant calendar information may be included in requests to the configured AI service when needed to respond to an assistant request. Configured providers include Anthropic, OpenAI, and DeepSeek; processing is governed by the selected provider’s terms and account settings. Calendar content may also appear in the assistant’s responses and conversation history. This connection does not itself create separate privacy boundaries between assistant profiles.
Other people may already have access to a calendar through its Google sharing settings. The assistant does not make calendars public. The operator may access stored data to maintain the service or respond to a household member’s request.
Storage and retention
Authorization credentials and assistant state are stored on the privately managed server. Recovery copies are kept in protected local backups. Relevant information may remain in conversation history or memory until removed; backup copies may remain until those backups are retired or deleted. Access to the assistant is restricted to authorized users.
Your choices
You can revoke the app’s access through Google Account connections. Revocation stops future Google API access but does not automatically erase information already stored in conversations or backups. Contact the operator to request deletion of stored credentials or assistant data and to discuss backup copies. You can manage events and calendar sharing directly in Google Calendar.
Contact and updates
Questions or deletion requests: mc@markcuda.com. This policy will be updated when the assistant’s data practices change.
